Dr. Newson is a Student Support Services Coordinator in our Career & Technical Division.
He has been here at CCC for about 14 years. Before coming to CCC he taught Electronics
at ITT Technical Institute in Cordova, Tennessee and also taught middle school Algebra
here in Clarksdale. He received a B.S. in Applied Physics from Jackson State University.
He also received a M.S. in Microelectronics/Photonics Engineering from University
of Arkansas. Dr. Newson additionally received his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration
from Jackson State University. He has been married for about 13 years. He has 3
daughters. In his spare time Dr. Newson loves fishing, bowling, and reading.
